Martha-A New World
A new world. My heart is saddened by the news of my Assistant Martha Jenks passing. Martha was
one of my very first students. With her devotion and love for T'ai Chi she became an Assistant Instructor and then a
very good Instructor of mine. We had some unbelieveably wonderful times together. She made me laugh till I cried.
Her heart was golden like her smile. She added laughter and joy to every class. Many times she taught me about
life and how to live mindfully and fully. I am sure her wheel is done turning here because she couldn't reach a higher
place on Earth if she tried. She reached the top and now she has entered A New World. Martha...I will always love you, miss
you, and cherish our memories!

Tao Te Ching Seventy-Six A man is born gentle and weak. At his death he is hard and stiff. Green plants are tender and filled with sap. At their death
they are withered and dry. Therefore the stiff and unbending is the disciple of death. The
gentle and yielding is the disciple of life. Thus and army without flexibility never wins a battle. A tree
that is unbending is easily broken. The hard and strong will fall. The soft and weak will overcome. (consider the waters hitting the rocks).
